Bishop Christopher knows the College well having served as Bishop of Woolwich, and was determined to include a visit here as soon as his new appointment was made public on 6th October.

During his visit he was able to meet some of the Residents and gave the College a wooden “holding cross”, carved to be held as an aid to prayer. “I look forward to coming back to spend more time with the community in the future,” he said. “The College is a special place and I am glad that I shall have a deeper connection as its Visitor.”

Bishop Christopher will be enthroned in the Cathedral as the 10th Bishop of Southwark early in 2011. To read more about his appointment, click here.
