The snooker table
in the Fiction Library |
Like the Refectory, the Common Room has been newly refurbished. The state-of-the-art facilities of DVD, PowerPoint and television projector are discreetly installed where they remain unnoticed until needed, leaving the elegant Arts and Crafts interior to offer a relaxed atmosphere in which to meet together. Talks, recitals and other corporate occasions take place here, but there is also a wide range of smaller-scale activities from which to choose.

speaker. The Art Group gives both experienced artists and complete novices the opportunity to discover new skills, and the Poetry Group meets to enjoy works chosen, and sometimes written, by its members. The monthly “Music to the Ears” sessions offer a varied programme of classical recordings chosen around a theme.
The Snooker table is set in the comfortable surroundings of the Fiction Library, while the Croquet Lawn provides a beautiful setting for a gentle game, often accompanied by a summer evening drink. For those who prefer to walk a little further, the 9-Hole Putting Green is used both for practice and for competitions within the College and against neighbours.
Activities beyond the College include visits to the theatre and nearby National Trust properties, and a twice-weekly free taxi service to nearby East Grinstead.
