Senior Leadership Team

Chief Executive Officer, Monty Erskine

Monty has been Head of the College of St Barnabas since 2021. He previously spent 17 years working in churches in Bath and London, most recently All Souls, Langham Place.  He is married to Beth and spends his time between the College and the Highlands of Scotland. You can email the CEO.

Registered Manager, Suzan Jack

Registered Manager and part of the Senior Leadership Team, Suzan started work at the College in 2000. She gained her NVQ3 in Care, and trained to be a counsellor. Having progressed to Team Leader she was promoted to Registered Manager in 2016. Suzan has a keen interest in charity and voluntary work and says “the College encapsulates my core values with prayer at its centre”. You can email the Registered Manager.

Operations Manager, Eifion Davies

As the third member of the College Senior Leadership Team, Eifion runs the Domestic, Catering and Estates team at the College, bringing a wide range of skills and experience to the role. His teams are critical to the operation of the College, from running a Victorian building (with Victorian pipework), to helping plan the programme of refurbishments, looking after the day to day needs of the Residents and overseeing the catering team.

The College Administrator, Emma Kauffman
Emma is the first point of contact for anyone getting in touch with the College office, as well as being a key day to day support for Residents, families and visitors. She oversees enquiries and trial visits, as well as handling, with unfailing good humour, the wide range of requests and questions that come across her desk. You can email Emma via the office.

The Chaplain, Revd Derek Chandler
Revd Derek Chandler was formerly a parish priest for 28 years in Southampton and Reading, respectively. Derek is married to Hayley, and has three grown up children and a grandson. They are both science fiction enthusiasts and believe in showing God’s love through random acts of kindness. Derek’s influences and passion for Christian community stems from his personal experiences of Iona, Othona, Sheldon, and Taizé.  You can email the Chaplain.
 
The Fundraising Manager, Michael Herbert
After a management career in freight and passenger shipping operations, Mike began working in the voluntary sector in 2000, obtained his first professional fundraising qualifications in 2003, and joined the College in 2004. In addition to his work with the College, Mike has been Head of Fundraising and UK Development for a national disability charity, Senior Partner in a fundraising consultancy and has served as Chairman of a specialist medical grant-making trust and as a trustee of a local Council for Voluntary Service. Away from work, Mike’s main interests are rugby union and hill walking. You can email the Fundraiser.
